Quarry
60 million tonnes of basalt
In January 2022, MICON International produced a full report following their study of the basalt field, which included the chemical analysis of the basalt itself. The analysis confirmed that the basalt was suitable for industrial purposes, due to its high levels of silicates and iron.
Industrial Site
30 km. from the basalt quarry
Azerbazalt owns a four hectare industrial site in the city of Ganja, which has its own railway siding that connects with the modern railway that reaches the Georgian ports of Poti and Batumi, on the Black Sea.
Future operations
Aghdam Industrial Park
Future industrial operations will also take place in the tax free zone of Aghdam and will contribute to redevelop the Recovered Territories of Karabakh, which is one of the priorities of the Government of Azerbaijan.

Chaykend Basalt Project
The Chaykend Basalt Project is located in the Göygöl district of Azerbaijan. The project site is in the north-west part of the country, close to the second largest city in Azerbaijan — Ganja.

License & Permits
On 10 October 2022, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources (MENR) of Azerbaijan issued Azerbazalt with a 25 year exclusive license to exploit the basalt field.
